Jill and Jim met through mutual friends and realized immediately how much they had in common. After five years of dating (and a ring burning a hole in his pocket), Jim treated Jill to a romantic dinner at their favorite restaurant. When they returned to their New York apartment, it wasn’t the flowers and candles that made Jill suspicious: “I started to wonder what he was up to when I noticed that he had actually cleaned,” Jill says. Jim proposed on bended knee, and the two returned to the bride’s home state of Delaware the next day to report the good news.
