Jill and Jim met through mutual friends and realized immediately how much they had in common. After five years of dating (and a ring burning a hole in his pocket), Jim treated Jill to a romantic dinner at their favorite restaurant. When they returned to their New York apartment, it wasn’t the flowers and candles that made Jill suspicious: “I started to wonder what he was up to when I noticed that he had actually cleaned,” Jill says. Jim proposed on bended knee, and the two returned to the bride’s home state of Delaware the next day to report the good news.

In the back of the room, Jill and Jim set up a midnight-snack table -- an all-white buffet of candy, cookies, and nuts where their 160 guests could fill up small bags of treats for later.

The four-tiered cake was filled with strawberries and cream. The white frosting was decorated with vertical stripes and beading.
The bride created their monogram design, which was surrounded by a wreath made with asterisks rather than flowers -- “a typographic wink to our design backgrounds,” Jill explains. The logo was incorporated into the programs, menu, and favors, along with the invitations that Jim designed himself.

The couple exchanged vows at the Catholic parish where Jill attended school as a child. “The modern architecture of the church appealed to our simple, clean aesthetic,” says Jill.
