Green and pink were the colors du jour at Michelle and Mike's sunny Southern California nuptials. They’re so close, in fact, that it takes serious planning and creativity for one to surprise the other. Mike knew that if he tried to do anything overtly romantic for a proposal, Michelle would figure him out. So he picked the least romantic time possible -- right in the middle of a cross-country move from California to Chicago. They were staying at Mike’s father’s house in the Chicago suburbs, and both were exhausted. Michelle crawled into bed and immediately fell asleep. As Mike tried to slip the ring on her finger, Michelle rolled over and flung it across the bed. When he finally regained control, he slid the ring on and waited -- and waited -- for her to wake up. Finally, he fell asleep. Michelle awoke the next morning, shrieking at the gorgeous bauble and waking up Mike. He leaped out of bed, got down on one knee, and asked Michelle, in her pajamas and messy hair, to marry him. “And I couldn’t have felt more beautiful in all my life,” she says.
