Lifelong North Carolinians (and fellow doctors) Ticia and Scott love the outdoors, so it’s natural they chose an airy wedding after a camping-trip proposal. The Bride Ticia Myers The Groom Scott Kribbs The Date June 11 Ticia and Scott (both now 34) met during their medical rotations, squeezing in breakfasts after their overnight shifts before finally going on a “real” date. Five years later, the couple was on a camping trip when a cloudburst and poor fishing sent them scurrying for cover in their car. Minutes later, Ticia was deep into a mystery novel when she heard Scott say, “Look at this fool flying a plane in the storm!” She murmured, “Uh-huh,” and then Scott repeated, “No, look!” “I looked straight up into a banner bobbing up and down in the wind that read, ‘Ticia, will you marry me?’” she remembers. Scott fumbled for the ring and proposed amid pouring rain and blowing sand. “An hour later, the storm cleared, and we were treated to a double rainbow -- a better proposal than I could ever have dreamed of,” she says.
