Lifelong North Carolinians (and fellow doctors) Ticia and Scott love the outdoors, so it’s natural they chose an airy wedding after a camping-trip proposal. The Bride Ticia Myers The Groom Scott Kribbs The Date June 11 Ticia and Scott (both now 34) met during their medical rotations, squeezing in breakfasts after their overnight shifts before finally going on a “real” date. Five years later, the couple was on a camping trip when a cloudburst and poor fishing sent them scurrying for cover in their car. Minutes later, Ticia was deep into a mystery novel when she heard Scott say, “Look at this fool flying a plane in the storm!” She murmured, “Uh-huh,” and then Scott repeated, “No, look!” “I looked straight up into a banner bobbing up and down in the wind that read, ‘Ticia, will you marry me?’” she remembers. Scott fumbled for the ring and proposed amid pouring rain and blowing sand. “An hour later, the storm cleared, and we were treated to a double rainbow -- a better proposal than I could ever have dreamed of,” she says.

Ticia and Scott's guests were treated to classic Appalachian and Celtic-tinged music on the hammered dulcimer and guitar during the ceremony.

The Ceremony Decor
When Ticia and Scott first viewed the tobacco farm they dubbed Five Creeks Farm on Valentine’s Day 2004, they fell in love with it -- as a future home, not necessarily a wedding site. In fact, Ticia wanted to have a small destination wedding in the Caribbean, but Scott swore it was the future site for their wedding. “I knew he was serious about our farm wedding when he agreed to build a road and put in power on the property just for the wedding!” says Ticia.
The Ceremony Decor
Ticia carried a lush bouquet of blue hydrangeas.
Mason jars filled with daisies, sunflowers, hydrangeas, and Bells of Ireland covered the farm, and the remaining décor was centered around the farm theme: Burlap tablecloths were topped with light blue overlays; hay bales stood alongside the tent; hostas wrapped in burlap decorated the reception; and potted ferns hung from shepherd’s hooks.
Ticia’s bridesmaids wore strapless, lagoon blue satin-faced taffeta tea-length dresses by Jim Hjelm that were accented by a wide chocolate ribbon.
Ticia and Scott's dogs played a role in the celebration, with black Labrador Maggie Leigh wearing daisies on her collar and Chesapeake Bay Retriever Shiloh wearing sunflowers.
Ticia and Scott's four-layer cake was decorated with sugar ferns and acorns and featured five-flavor pound cake, Italian cream cake, and amaretto pound cake
