The Reception

A burst of peonies and ranunculuses, and the metallic silver and blush wedding colors, greeted guests as they entered the reception space, where they were treated to a spectacular view of the grounds from a hidden terrace. As the late afternoon sun streamed in from the ballroom's enormous arched windows, the dancing and insightful toasts began, as well as impromptu speeches by some of Jason's friends. It became 'open mic' night, Flora jokes. Most of the animated, off-the-cuff remarks referenced those awkward early days of the couple's courtship and Jason's ceaseless crush, culminating in that fateful summer day when they first spoke.
