The atrium where the ceremony took place featured remarkable eight-story bamboo trees, and bamboo stalks were bound onto the reception place settings and ceremony programs. We wrote our entire ceremony ourselves and also wrote our vows, Alicia says. We wanted every part to be meaningful and significant. Readings included the essay Nate had written that won the couple their dream wedding, as well as a poem Alicia had written to Nate. My favorite part of Nate's vows was, 'I promise to trust you above all others, I promise to always be honest, and I promise to never give up,' she says.
