The Ceremony

Kicking off the official wedding ceremony, Jyoti and Lan participated in a Jai Mala ceremony, where they symbolized their union by exchanging garlands. Each garland contained at least 100 red and white carnations, which were hand strung by the bride and groom's closest friends. During the culturally infused service, both Jyoti and Lan walked around the traditional Hindu wedding fire seven times to represent various wedding wishes, and listened to family and friends deliver seven readings about love, friendship, happiness, laughter, and family.
