Shetal & Todd in Durham, NC

Shetal and Todd decided to have two ceremonies: a traditional Indian ceremony to honor Shetal’s heritage and a traditional Christian ceremony to honor Todd’s. The Bride Shetal Padia The Groom Todd Wolf The Date June 12 On one of their first dates, physicians Shetal, 30, and Todd, 32, purchased an extravagant bottle of cabernet while tasting wine at a vineyard in Virginia. They made a pact to drink the bottle only on a very special occasion; but should they decide to go their separate ways, the person who was responsible for ending the relationship would have to give the bottle to the other. Shetal forgot all about the wine, and the pact, until a few years later during a weekend ski trip. After a day on the slopes, Todd poured her a glass of wine while she was preparing to go to dinner. Shetal thought it was especially good, so she went to the kitchen to check out the label—and her stomach sank when she recognized the bottle. “For an instant, I thought Todd was ending our relationship,” says Shetal. “But when I turned around, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him!”
