I was wondering why he was in town, but I didn't think much of it, she says. That evening she picked him up and headed for her parents' house. Calvin had planned on setting the scene with a trail of candles leading up the driveway, but they'd barely reached the living room and greeted Annie's grandmother before -- ring burning a hole in his pocket --he dropped to one knee and proposed.
