A Classic Wedding at the Athletic Club in Columbus, Ohio
Inspired by the film "Breakfast at Tiffany’s" and Audrey Hepburn's timeless elegance, Carla Haun (29 and a real estate agent) and Chris Bright (31 and a regional investment consultant) planned a sophisticated soiree at the Athletic Club in downtown Columbus, Ohio. With a palette of blush, black and white—which Carla swears Holly Golightly would have loved—and the help of their coordinator, Emily Knapp, the pair pulled off fun-filled fete.
Before sending the celebration into high gear, Carla and Chris gathered their family and friends in the banquet room for a heartfelt ceremony officiated by Carla’s cousin Zach Helm. The banquet offered a breathtaking backdrop for the occasion, with twinkling chandeliers, beautiful hardwood floors and intricately molded ceiling. The pair exchanged vows they had written themselves, and a string quartet played instrumental renditions of the couple’s favorite songs. A reception followed in the ballroom, where chandeliers and candlelight cast a warm, romantic glow over tables dressed in ivory linens and arrangements of textured blush blooms. Mirrored and mercury-glass accents, as well as gold chargers, brought an element of old-world glamour to the tablescapes, playing up Carla’s theme. Guests enjoyed a delicious sit-down dinner and were treated to white swan cake with raspberry filling and chocolate-chili cinnamon by Jan Kish La Petite Fleur. “It was the most amazing cake, and our guests told us it was the best they’d ever had,” Carla says. After dinner, the newlyweds and their guests hit the dance floor, where Encore Entertainment kept the party going all night. —Libby MacCarthy
