"At first we didn’t want a cake, opting for a delicious almond bread pudding for dessert," Melanie says. "However, our very good friend’s family owns a bakery and wanted to make something special for us: a three-layer cake with mango and ube, which is a Filipino purple yam dessert also known as taro. She even added some succulents on the cake as well to match with my bouquet."
