Chemical engineers Beth and Helin crossed paths while working together in Chicago, so it was only natural that they also swap vows in the Windy City. When planning their day, the pair set out to embrace the vibrant hues and natural beauty of fall, decking out their venue in seasonal hints of red, orange and yellow, seen everywhere from their statement shoes and florals to their stacked cheese “cake.” “Our main goal was that our party be fun and welcoming for all our guests,” the couple says. These two brides went above and beyond to make their wedding a welcoming environment for all of the many kinds of family that make up their world, chosen family included.

In addition to their bold dresses—Helin in navy blue and Beth in red—the lovebirds shielded themselves from the unexpected rainy weather with a pair of leather jackets and a clear umbrella.
