Vibrant Crossed Keys Estate Wedding

Carol Sweeney (33 and works in the health care industry) and Sean O’Hara (34 and works in emergency management) aren’t scared to play with color. Case in point: Instead of spicing up their wedding with pops of bright hues, the pair went the opposite way. “We called our theme ‘a touch of gray,’” Carol says. Sparing splashes of neutral color popped against pink and orange décor, and vibrant dahlias and roses topped the pair’s ceremony arbor. For a more literal pop of color, guests wished Carol and Sean well by blowing bubbles.
Hanging paper lanterns in shades of orange and pink added a fun, quirky note to the bright reception tent. Geometric candle holders struck an eclectic note next to the more rustic, raw wood and natural greenery and dahlias completing Carol and Sean’s dinner spot. “When decorating, my motto was ‘flowers, flowers and more flowers,” Carol says. “Every table had some element of greenery, including garlands, as well as flowers.”
Carol and Sean made their big entrance to “Revival” by The Allman Brothers Band—but their wedding party took things up a notch by surprising the newlyweds with a shower of colorful confetti. “Sean has been known to sneak a confetti cannon into Phish concerts and set it off as a surprise,” Carol says. Guests grabbed slices of funfetti cake topped with vanilla buttercream frosting.
