Tuscany-Inspired Cotton Gin Wedding at Hidalgo Falls
On a family trip to Italy, Elizabeth Cobb (26 and a teacher) fell in love with the country’s olive trees and vines. So for her wedding to Payne Schuelke (26 and works at a title company), she brought a taste of Tuscany to her hometown. With her mother, a retired event coordinator, Elizabeth planned a relaxed, greenery-filled celebration at The Gin at Hidalgo Falls. They used an antique buffet from home as the ceremony altar and cake table, created lounge areas with family furniture and offered antipasti and Peronis.
A wood cheese board, bottle of olive oil and sap cup with eucalyptus topped tables. A rosemary sprig was added to each menu at table settings.
Eucalyptus and olive branches hung above leather chairs, baskets and side tables from Elizabeth’s family home. “I love the free, eclectic boho look,” Elizabeth says. Guests dined on wood-fired margherita or barbecue chicken pizza and pasta alfredo with sun-dried tomatoes and prosciutto. Elizabeth carried garden roses, ranunculus, veronica, silver dollar eucalyptus, amaranthus, lemon leaves and Italian ruscus.
