Tropical 1920's Inspired Jersey Shore Wedding
Rachel Garman (26 and a marketing communications specialist) and Shane Sternberg (26 and an accounting assistant) have an appreciation for all things vintage. That’s not only why Shane proposed with a reclaimed 1930s ring, but also why the pair picked historic The Southern Mansion for their wedding venue. Rachel and Shane played up the art deco style of the Roaring Twenties with their stationery and filled the historic seaside estate with antique items Rachel thrifted months before.
Sasha, the couple’s pup, played a starring role in Rachel and Shane’s wedding day, participating in the first look and rocking her very own dog of honor bandana. Sasha’s presence was also felt in the vows. “The thing I love most about you is how much you love me,” Rachel told Shane. “Even when you’re taking the dog out in the cold Central Pennsylvania night while I’m in bed, you love me.” Rachel carried a bright mix of eucalyptus, white garden roses, orchids, anemones, baby’s breath and her favorite flower, hydrangeas.
To honor their favorite vacation destination of Key West, the couple asked their florist to play up touches of tropical greenery. In that spirit, palm and monstera leaves filled brass vases. The newlyweds embraced their inner Gatsby with a champagne tower, which was a natural fit considering the day’s hashtag, #PopChampagneWithRachAndShane. A 1920s-style jazz band, The Red Hot Ramblers, covered modern music for the ceremony.
