The Reception

The meal was served family-style: A tureen of corn chowder was placed on every table, followed by a tossed strawberry salad. For the main course, guests enjoyed maple-glazed grilled chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, and asparagus drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. Tables were accented with the library's antique lamps, and napkins at each place setting were artfully folded to hold the menu, a tulip, and a lottery ticket for each guest. In addition to the main meal, strawberry salad (made from Paul's Aunt Marlene's recipe) was served.
