The Reception

Following the full Catholic Mass, a huge celebration unfolded at Martin's Crosswinds where red and white flowers covered every tabletop and gave the magnificent space a more intimate feel. Once the newlyweds had enjoyed their first moments as husband and wife on the dance floor swaying to Frank Sinatra's Strangers in the Night, 400 guests crowded the marble floor and danced all night under the glorious chandeliers. Appropriately, favors consisted of hugs, kisses, and promises. Hershey's Hugs & Kisses and Dove Promises were placed in baskets and tied with tags that read, With a promise, a hug, and some kisses, Hedy Lynn and John become Mr. and Mrs. As the band was packing up, Hedy Lynn took a moment to reflect on the peaceful day. I remember thinking I was sad that the day was over, but so happy that it was such a success.
