The Reception
Outside the tent, overlooking the scenic bluff illuminated with spotlights, were dinner tables decorated with apple-green taffeta tablecloths, along with hurricane lamps surrounded by lavender sweet pea, and terra-cotta centerpieces filled with spring wildflowers. Tall sprigs of yellow flowers fanning out in the center highlighted the main buffet table that boasted a spread of gourmet Tex-Mex cuisine. Throughout the 200-person celebration, Meredith and Thomas certainly messed with Texas...style-offering s'mores cooked over a flaming barbeque pit, while the Austin-based band treated guests to stateside sounds. We couldn't get Uncle Rootie off the dance floor, Meredith says. He was out there clogging like it was going out of fashion. Capping off the night with a bang, a surprise fireworks display set off from one of the bluffs exploded right over the couple's heads. Meredith and Thomas then left the all-night bash, in a flood of sparklers lit with matches from personalized matchbooks marked with a cute country couple sitting on a fence. It may not have been raging waters, but the colorful light show definitely blew all the guests away.
