The Reception

Afterward, the reception began in the mansion’s great room. Meghan and Delvon opted to accentuate the room’s linear qualities by using long tables, and instead of a traditional head table they had three square tables. The reception space is naturally dark and intimate, and we wanted to enhance that feeling by using dark, chocolate brown table linens and setting the mood with tons of candlelight, the bride explains. We used large pillar candles to highlight different areas and little individual votive candles with each guest’s name written on them instead of place cards. Large centerpieces sat on the head tables, while the guests’ tables were topped with smaller arrangements. All featured green cymbidium orchids -- also seen in the bouquets -- which were definitely the flower of the day.
