The Gown
Sabeen wore a traditional Pakistani outfit known as a gharara. “Mine specifically was a farshi gharara, because it has an especially long train,” the bride explains. “It’s basically a very pleated pantaloon, but you can’t make out the legs with all of the fabric, and then a shorter fitted blouse with a long scarf.” The gharara was made with 14 yards of jamovar silk that was hand embroidered in the style of the designer’s great grandmother’s wedding outfit (The embroidery took six months to complete!).
