The Ceremony
Jennifer and Trent wed in a clearing beside the main lodge as the sun was setting, with a view of the lake and a pecan grove in the background. Guests sat on old wooden pews borrowed from a nearby country church, and mason jars with candles inside hung from shepherd’s hooks to mark the aisle. Before guests found their seats, they grabbed glasses of fresh lemonade from a table at the back. The couple exchanged traditional vows beneath a cedar arbor the groom and his father had built. Even though we were marrying outside and not in a church, we wanted a religious ceremony. It was so amazing to worship and pray under the big blue Texas sky, Jennifer says.
