The Ceremony

Both Niki and Gautam were adorned with beautiful, handmade garlands of red and white carnations. Niki wore a rich red and gold sari and Gautam sported a gold kurtha. The backdrop for the ceremonies was a garden canopy that we turned into a mandap (part of a traditional Hindu ceremony, much like a huppah in Jewish culture) decorated with fresh greens and white flowers, Niki explains. Both sets of parents wore traditional Indian attire courtesy of Gautam's family. In between ceremonies at the church, guests were treated to hors d'oeuvres while the couple took photos.
