The Ceremony
The event turned into a celebration of those who were no longer with the family, with the wedding falling on the birthday of a deceased uncle and in the month that Meredith had lost her mother. The ceremony was particularly emotional: Since I walked down the aisle alone, I glided down like Miss America, waving to people, laughing, crying, smiling, and enjoying myself the way my parents would have wanted me to, says Meredith.
