Meredith and Steve knew each other for years before their love blossomed. It quickly became clear they wouldn't be spending any more time apart! Although they attended the same elementary and junior-high schools, they parted ways in seventh grade when Steve transferred to another school. They remained acquaintances through the years, and were reintroduced when they were in their 20s by Steve's cousin Mark. It was then that their nonchalant relationship became much more. Their first date was at the beach in Wildwood and then on to a party. That was it, Meredith recalls. We never stopped talking to each other from that day on. Meredith had lost both of her parents, so the couple moved into her family home in order to take care of her sister. After a normal dinner out one Tuesday evening, Steve proposed to Meredith on the lawn of their six-acre home. They would be married 14 months later.
