The Ceremony

Guests entered All Saints Episcopal Church to beautiful angelic music coming from the balcony, and they received a program (which Luella and her maid of honor created to explain the Korean traditions incorporated into the ceremony) and a single silver bell to ring after the officiant announced, You may now kiss the bride. The pair blended their cultures and beliefs with a meaningful ceremony. Chong was Buddhist, but he was baptized a day before the wedding. During the ceremony, the couple honored Chong's Korean traditions with an offering of Kirogi, a wooden duck from the groom to the bride's mother, sealing his promise to care for her daughter forever. After the marriage pronouncement, the newlyweds presented their parents with bouquets of flowers, representing eternal respect for their mothers.
