The Ceremony
For the ceremony, Jenn and Chris stood at one end of the arbor while a string quartet played. “Since our colors were brown and blue, there weren’t a lot of color options to choose from for flowers,” Jenn says. Instead, she and Chris went with their florist’s recommendation of using all white. “Tina went above and beyond for us at our wedding,” Jenn says. “She completely surprised both of us by making two large matching altar arrangements honoring each of our mothers.” Jenn’s mother had passed away when she was 24, and Chris’ mother had recently been diagnosed with cancer and could not be at the wedding. “Chris ended up calling his mom on his cell phone right before the wedding and had his best man hold it inconspicuously in his hand throughout the ceremony so she could hear us get married,” Jenn remembers. “It’s difficult to express in words the emotions Tina evoked in both of us by taking it upon herself to create those special pieces specifically for our mothers.”
