Talia Famiglio met her fiance, Shelby Craddock, in a far-from-usual way: through her then boyfriend. “As soon as I met Shelby I knew he was wonderful,” she remembers. “I tried to set him up with all of my friends!” Once Talia and her guy parted ways, Shelby and Talia stayed friends, and soon, a whole new relationship started. The Bride Talia Famiglio, 22, interior designer The Groom Shelby Craddock, 27, financial planner The Date May 14 Given that less-than-traditional start, Talia knew right from the beginning that a textbook wedding just wasn’t her style. “I’m so tired of going to white weddings, so I wanted to create a space that was captivating and dramatic,” says Talia, who’s got an obvious knack for creating visually stunning spaces. “I knew red was the color I needed to have.” So she planned a celebration that would best embody her personality and her relationship with Shelby. An abstract expressionist painting of red spherical shapes provided the inspiration, and from that point forward the concept came together easily.
