Sherri and Lee host a summer wedding with a stylish outdoorsy feel. The Bride Sherri Williams, a 36-year-old investment banker and wedding planner The Groom Lee Sossen, a 31-year-old professional duathlete and former attorney The Date June 19 Sherri Williams and Lee Sossen might have something to say about how much it pays to be the early bird -- the two first met in August 2001 on an early-morning jog in New York City’s Central Park. “I don’t think we ever saw each other after 7 a.m. for the first five months after we met,” says Sherri. At a party she hosted after the Boston Marathon in 2002, Sherri and Lee clicked, and she emailed him the following Monday. “I called back five minutes later,” says Lee. Seven months later the pair was in the middle of a jog when Lee said he had to tie his shoe. Down on one knee and digging around in his shorts pocket, Sherri was schocked when Lee pulled out an engagement ring. My answer was 'Yes!' Sherri says.

The ceremony was held on a lush rolling lawn on the edge of a beautifully wooded area, and Sherri and Lee were married beneath a huppah decorated simply in greens, pink flowers, and raspberry ribbons.
The Couple
The festive vibe carried through the night, from the couple’s first dance to U2’s “Beautiful Day,” to Lee's brother and best man Andrew's toast.
Sherri and Lee's vows were “a combination of Christian, Jewish, and our own vows,” Lee says. The couple also included traditional Jewish and Christian readings.
The Centerpieces
Lee was decked out in a Giorgio Armani tux and sapphire cuff links -- a gift from Sherri.
Sherri and Lee -- who wanted to share their love of fine food and drink with their guests -- worked closely with their caterer to create a four-course tasting menu, each course being paired with an exquisite wine. The menu included smoked salmon Napoleon, chilled eggplant soup, French stuffed capon, and a delectable molten chocolate souffle for dessert. The couple gave their guests even more to talk about by including a booklet containing the recipes from all four courses, as well as wine and cheese tasting notes for favors.
In the dining tent were 29 narrow tables, which sat four people on each side, “creating an intimate setting for dinner conversation,” Sherri says.
The Invitation
Sherri wore an ivory beaded alencon lace Christos gown accessorized with pink sapphire earrings.
Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the cocktail tent set up in the family's front yard, which was connected to the larger dinner tent by a hallway lined with pink luminaries.
Lee and his attendants wore pink daisy bow ties in place of boutonnieres.
The wedding cake was a three-layer raspberry swirl butter pound cake, with buttercream icing and celery green fondant, but guests had to wait to get their hands on a slice -- though the cake was on display at the reception, it wasn’t served until the next day at the postwedding brunch.
With a raspberry red outline of a tent printed on celery green save-the-dates, Sherri and Lee set the sleek and stylish tone. The symbol was then used to tie together all of the wedding stationery.
