Sarina & David: An Outdoor Fall Wedding in Nantucket, MA

David and Sarina met at a photo exhibition at Washington University in St. Louis. They were introduced by a mutual friend after David complimented Sarina's photo in the show. The Bride Sarina Finkelstein, 28, photographer and photo editor The Groom David Leventi, 31, photographer The Date October 12 David actually proposed to Sarina twice; the first time was unofficial, after Sarina’s work was published in Photo District News. David faxed her the article, which had originally been published below a photo of football fans holding up signs that read, “Alice: I heart you. Will you marry me?” Before faxing the article, David doctored the photo and wrote in Sarina’s name in place of Alice’s. Sarina faxed back another photo from the book with the caption, “I do.” The official proposal came one December night when David slipped a ring on Sarina’s finger just before she fell asleep. Though they live in Brooklyn, the couple decided to get married in Nantucket, their favorite vacation spot.
