The first time Sarah met Tom, Tom was wearing a light blue tuxedo and a large afro-style wig -- luckily it was a ’70s theme party! The two were both freshman athletes at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and soon became boyfriend and girlfriend. Sarah and Tom dated all through college and then long-distance while Tom was playing professional basketball in Europe (“he’s already 6’7” -- so with the wig he must have been over 7’ tall!” Sarah remembers).
