Romantic Formal Wedding on the Jersey Shore

Christina McNamara (27 and a financial services director) and Daniel Weber (34 and a commercial manager) value the comfort and connection that stems from tradition, so they stuck with the classics for their bash, hosting a formal wedding with romantic flair. The duo exchanged vows in Christina’s hometown at the same church where her mother got married, then continued the party at a local country club. Delicate flowers in white and green and flickering candles cast an idyllic glow on the intimate evening.
The couple opted for traditional formal attire, with Daniel wearing a custom blue tux and Christina rocking a lace dress with a side slit and diamond jewelry. “I err on the traditional side, but the slit made it youthful, fun and daring,” Christina says of her choice.
The ring bearer carried the couple’s wedding rings on a bundle of rose stems tied together with a silk ribbon. “I wanted a ‘pillow’ made of organic objects that would complement the flowers,” Christina says.
Wood chairs, white linens, lush greenery and an ocean backdrop created a fresh and crisp reception scene. To achieve an elegant look, the couple opted for centerpieces of white roses, potted ferns and standard myrtles. Christina used her grandfather’s mirror to display table assignments. “My grandfather was a significant presence in my life, and incorporating the mirror was a nice reminder of him,” Christina says.
Christina and Daniel swayed to “Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison. “The song is so special—I used to dance to Van Morrison with my grandfather,” Christina says.
Since the couple wanted a chocolate fix, they decided to combine the standard vanilla cake with layers of chocolate cake and cookies- and-cream filling. The couple used a custom monogram to complete their table numbers. “It really tied everything together,” Christina says. “We’ll have that monogram for life.” Bridesmaids wore navy dresses, tying them into the colors of the venue’s surrounding ocean views.
