When Becky moved from Boston to San Francisco, she became friends with Brad, a coworker. When Rob moved from Pennsylvania to Sacramento, he, too, became friends with Brad when they met during a blizzard while skiing in Tahoe. Pretty soon, Brad, Becky, and Rob had formed a unit of friends from various places throughout California, and their group really became a little family. Another two years later, Rob proposed on a mountaintop during their first ski trip of the season. As they planned their wedding, the couple made sure to keep their focus: “We wanted the whole process to be focused on why we were getting married, and we didn’t want to be caught up in too many details of how we were getting married,” Becky says. With that in mind, they put great effort into making sure the wedding would be a strong reflection of their relationship to each other and their families.
