Kara and Jeff met through a friend of Kara’s who was the bassist in a band where Jeff was the drummer. Kara often went to their shows, and eventually she and Jeff -— who Kara “had always thought was cute” —- hit if off. Their first “official” date was at the BB King Blues Club in New York City, where both were living at the time. As they waited for a table at a restaurant on the water, Jeff suggested they go and watch the sunset on the beach -- nothing too unusual, thought Kara. As the sun went down, Jeff fell to one knee and proposed. “I was completely surprised and elated,” she says. They wed in her home state almost a year to the day later.
