It’s a good thing that John Keating knows his way around an ice rink. He’d been dating Ingrid Eichberg for nearly a year when he conspired with her mother to propose on the ice rink at Fountain Square in Cincinnati. Unbeknownst to Ingrid, John was hiding nearby, and he watched as her mother convinced her to strap on a pair of skates. Suddenly, the rink’s music stopped and the first strains of Etta James’ “At Last” began to play as John skated up behind Ingrid. Dressed in his best suit and skates, John led Ingrid to the center of the rink where he got down on one knee and proposed. She said yes without a moment’s hesitation, and the two made a few victory laps around the rink as the crowd applauded.
