Four-Tier Ruffle Cake
A four-tier round cake was decorated with white ruffles and fresh flowers in lieu of a cake topper. Guests chose from chocolate cake filled with dark chocolate ganache, salted caramel and hazelnut meringue buttercream with hazelnuts or almond cake filled with salted caramel and vanilla meringue buttercream. “The knife we used to cut the cake was given to us a few weeks before the wedding by my parents,” Andrea says. “It was the same knife they used to cut the cake at their wedding. My parents had our names and wedding date engraved into the blade right next to their’s. We hope to make passing on this knife a family tradition.”
