Erin & John in Midlothian, Scotland

After a chance meeting in Florida, and a week of magical dating, Erin and John began a transcontinental romance. Erin, a graduate student at the University of Florida, was immediately attracted to John's exotic Scottish accent. A little over one year later, during one of Erin's visits to Scotland, John proposed in the butterfly gardens of Scone Palace. Would you make me the happiest man in Scotland and marry me? he asked. Erin soon accepted and John, overjoyed, spent the rest of the day telling people, She said, 'aye!' The Bride Erin, 26, senior marketing analyst The Groom John, 37, medical anthropology graduate student The Date July 26 Given John's Scottish heritage, it was only natural that the wedding have a very Celtic feel and take place in an illustrious Scottish castle. Erin undertook the task of coordinating her destination wedding from Memphis, TN all by herself. Almost all of the planning process was done over email, she says. I didn’t even meet with the florist to pick out the flowers until one week before the wedding!
