Emily & Grant in Minnetonka, MN

The story of Emily and Grant is one for the books—literally! They met as students at the University of Minnesota (where they both currently work) when they were scheduled for the same shift at their jobs in an on-campus office. They only knew each other’s faces, but once they had the opportunity to work together, they slowly got to know each other and realized how much they had in common, especially their love of reading. In fact, one of the first things they did together was read the same book. The Bride Emily Fisher, 24, administrative assistant The Groom Grant Schwartz, 25, academic advisor The Date June 23 On Valentine’s Day, after almost a year of dating, Grant bought a leather-bound journal, cut a square in the center of the pages, just big enough to hold a ring, and wrote next to it, “Emily, will you marry me?” Emily fell in love with the personal and creative proposal and, of course, said yes.
