Nature-Filled Wedding at The Greenhouse at Driftwood in Texas With an Adorable Dog in Attendance

It’s not easy breaking with tradition. Shea Jackson (28 and works in marketing) did a lot of soul searching before deciding to walk down the aisle by herself carrying marigolds, ranunculus and garden roses. “Not everyone is blessed with a close bond with their fathers, but there’s so much pressure to honor this relationship at a wedding,” Shea says. But she was proud of her bold choice. In his vows, Joe McCann (38 and chairman of a software company) told her she’d never have to walk alone again. The couple’s bow-tie-clad dog, Hayes, was a star of the ceremony. “After we were pronounced man and wife, everyone clapped and he ran to us down the aisle,” Shea says.  Guests dined on Texas ribeye and duck fat roasted potatoes before feasting on mini cheesecakes, flourless chocolate cakes with chocolate ganache and toffee blondies. Tropical invitations hinted at the décor, including smilax, roses, marigolds, euphorbia fulgens and dusty-blue pillar candles to come. “Exotic greenery is not what you expect to find in the Hill Country,” Shea says, though 70 species of rainforest and desert plants grow at The Greenhouse.
