Katie and Adam met a few times when Katie went to her friend's home in Michigan for the holidays. Adam is her friend's cousin. They started talking after spending the holidays together six years ago. At first, Adam had talked himself out of calling Katie for the first time. "His uncle stopped him and said, If you don't call, you will regret it.
