A Country Inspired Wedding at Lange Farm in Dade City, Florida

Before Katie Otto, a fifth grade teacher, 35, started dating Adam Smith, an assistant manager, 25, she had a few of her wedding details picked out. "I had always dreamed of a whimsical, romantic wedding with a rustic flare," says Katie. The couple were wed at the Lange Fame in Dade City, Florida, five months after they became engaged. Katie wanted to have the ceremony outdoors prior to Adam's proposal, but it was through a friend's recommendation she found the farm. The couple's wedding colors were not as easily decided upon.  "I had always had the colors red and yellow chosen, however, I did not want the feel of mustard and ketchup. With the help of my wedding planner, we came up with a strawberry and lemonade theme," says Katie. Red Gerbera daisies were found throughout the day in the bride and bridesmaid's bouquets, atop their cake and as centerpieces at the reception. The lemonade portion of their wedding colors was represented through hues of yellow in the couple's table linens, escort cards and gold chiavari reception chairs. Katie and her sister's bouquets as well as Adam's boutonniere also featured a yellow orchid. Including the sprinkle of rain during their ceremony, the wedding was exactly what she wanted, says Katie. During the reception, the couple made a wardrobe change into outfits inspired by their favorite college football teams. "We ended the night with a bit of sports fun as my new husband and I ran through a tunnel of pom poms with our friends cheering us off!" says Katie.
