For Carrie Edwards and Jason Daffner, nothing could be closer to the truth. Carrie and Jason met and became friends while studying (for their undergraduate degrees) at Emory University. A few years later, the two began dating long-distance, with Carrie living in Philadelphia and Jason in Miami. “After our third real date, he decided to pick up and move to Philadelphia,” Carrie says. “We’ve been together ever since!” Nearly two years later, on one particular rainy day, Carrie was supposedly meeting up with a friend in Rittenhouse Square. Her friend never showed, but Jason did (little did she know it was all part of a bigger plan). As Carrie wandered the square in the pouring rain looking for her lunch date, she found Jason standing by their old apartment with their two dogs. Jason proposed “as the wet dogs jumped all over us,” she says. Two years later, they were married at a place dear to Carrie’s heart.
