Brittany & Steve: An Outdoor Wedding in Tacoma, WA

The beautiful scenery and bright colors were a striking combination for Brittany and Steve's celebration. The Bride Brittany Haroldson, 25, teacher The Groom Stephen (Steve) Brown, 25, U.S. Air Force pilot The Date August 14 Brittany Haroldson was a junior in college in Denver when a friend invited Stephen (Steve) Brown, a student at the Air Force Academy, to a party at her house. After the party, Steve asked for my number, but I didn’t think anything of it because I really wasn't interested in getting involved with someone who lived over an hour away, says Brittany. Two weeks later, Steve called to wish her a happy birthday. A week later he called again, this time with an offer for dinner. Brittany still wasn't interested, especially because he gave me the choice between Taco Bell and McDonald’s, she says. But little did she know Steve was never one to do things the typical way. Brittany finally caved due to his persistence, and thankfully the two didn't end up at a fast food joint. I soon found out that this was just a taste of Steve's incredible sense of humor, she explains. Three years and two months later, when she was flying back to Colorado after a visit with her family, Steve picked Brittany up at the airport with the plan to take her out to a nice restaurant downtown. She thought for sure dinner would be the perfect moment for him to propose, but in true Steve fashion, he slipped a ring on her finger as he gave her a hug right outside the baggage claim.
