In early July of that year, they took a weekend getaway to Malibu and stayed at the same hotel where they’d celebrated their two-year anniversary. They took a walk on the beach before dinner, and on the way back, Michael proposed. Originally the couple had wanted an intimate wedding at an Irish castle, but money and travel were big issues for a lot of their guests. Instead, they decided on an intimate loft wedding in Los Angeles.
