An Elegant, Modern Wedding at The State Room in Boston, Massachusetts
For Stacey Goldberg (29 and works in human resources) and Evan Olesh (29 and works in sports marketing) planning a wedding that captured all the things they loved about Boston, their home and the place where they met and fell in love, was a must. The couple spent the afternoon taking pictures at iconic locations around the city, then gathered with their families and friends at The State Room in the Sixty State Street skyscraper for the ceremony and reception. The couple kept the decor simple, yet elegant, filling the impressive, modern space with a soft color palette of ivory, blush and silver, classic arrangements of hydrangeas, roses and stock and lots of warm, ambient candlelight. “The view from the State Room is unparalleled and we wanted to make that the focus of the space, so we kept the lighting simple and natural to bring the city lights in,” says Stacey. “Our colors of blush and silver highlighted the space without overpowering it.” Touches like New York Jets and New England Patriot kippahs, pre-ceremony champagne and popcorn, a festive photo booth and delicious doughnut favors from the couple’s favorite bakery gave the day undeniable personal flair, while helping to create a fun, casual environment. The evening’s menu featured some of the couple’s favorite eats, like dumplings, lobster rolls and fried chicken, and broke away from the standard wedding fare. Night Shift Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night long with their lively mix of hits and guests were treated to cool sweets, like ice cream sandwiches, as they danced the night away. “Our goal was for everyone to have an amazing time and leave feeling like the wedding was very ‘us’ and having had the best time ever!” says Stacey.
