An Elegant Italian Wedding at Steele Canyon Golf Club in Jamul, California
Maxine (28 and a paralegal) and Cosimo (31 and a teacher) met on a dating website for singles of Italian descent and fittingly had their first date at an Italian restaurant, Mama Mia's. They got engaged just nine months later on a hike at Torrey Pines State Reserve on the same trail where Cosimo first asked Maxine to be official. They even celebrated with dinner at the same restaurant where they had their very first date! For the ceremony, Maxine and Cosimo got married in a traditional church, but they held their reception at Steele Canyon Golf Club in Jamul, California with a Tuscan garden theme. The bride carried a beautiful white bouquets of garden roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, and baby's breath, along with pops of lavender, rosemary, and olive branches. While the groom wore a formal tuxedo (complete with cummerbund and suspenders), the bride wore a lace, cap sleeve, trumpet-fit gown with a keyhole back and a lace-edged veil. Her bridesmaid wore a long lavender gown to match the sprigs of lavender in the bouquets. After dinner, the couple served a trio of wedding cakes inspired by Italian cannoli with ricotta cream filling and roasted almond shavings, along with a white selection of homemade Italian cookies. For their special day, the bride and groom took ballroom dance classes, and they even had a traditional Italian tarantella wedding dance for entertainment. They also made a donation to Disabled American Veterans in lieu of wedding favors. Overall, the classic wedding perfectly fit Maxine and Cosimo's personalities, as they explain, "We love to celebrate our Italian heritage and our commitment to helping others and enjoying nature."
