They first met “up north” in Ludington over a long summer weekend, and the couple made frequent trips together to Josh’s family’s cabin in Grand Marais in the years that followed. It was on one of those trips to Grand Marais that Josh surprised Amy with a proposal after three years of dating. As Amy recalls, they went for a morning walk on the beach with their two dogs, Cash and Josie, and she spotted a particularly arresting rock along the Lake Superior shoreline.
