He also gave me his jacket in the dead of winter so that I would not be cold walking to my car. Despite John's chivalry, Amy almost threw the number away when she came across it while cleaning off her dresser. It sat there for a week before she finally called. Two years later, John filled Amy's apartment with candles, got down on one knee, and proposed marriage to Amy who cried through it all.
