Amber and Jeff first met as mechanical engineering students at the University of British Columbia. They dated throughout college, so when the proposal came six-and-a-half years later, it wasn’t exactly unexpected. One night, the two were walking along the pier of Granville Island, a quaint local shopping district. They stopped, and just as soon as Jeff opened his mouth to propose, a boat horn blared so loudly that Amber couldn’t hear him. Amber heard his question after the fourth attempt and the two started planning their wedding. The self-proclaimed science geeks decided to use a science class theme for their outdoor wedding and carried it through all of the wedding day details. The inspiration for the color scheme? A sheet of notebook paper.
