A Whimsical Wedding at 173 Carlyle House in Chamblee, Georgia
Dan and Jillian’s adventurous attitude toward life perfectly matched their fun Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding. The book “was my favorite as a child,” Jillian says. “I also love to read, so we had a lot of book and paper things around.” After meeting in college, the couple moved to Atlanta to continue their education together. Years later, on the first day of summer, Dan took Jillian on an impromptu trip to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. After coming to a lagoon on the property, Dan romantically pulled out a ring box and got down on one knee. Nine months later, the couple were celebrating their marriage at 173 Carlyle House in Chamblee, Georgia. “We wanted a venue that had everything and could do catering in-house. They even made our wedding cake,” Jillian says. Though a couple of “rogue raindrops” attempted to wash out the ceremony, nothing could dampen the spirits of the friends and family who gathered to honor the couple. “These two were incredibly happy to be experiencing their wedding day. It was heartwarming to witness,” photographer Chil Studios says. The reception included an open bar, salad, chicken, steak and a blue velvet three-tier wedding cake. The eccentric celebration was exactly what the couple hoped for. “We really wanted our wedding to be fun and whimsical,” Jillian says. “I think we achieved that.”
